Agency Narrative
The agency has improved on its overall performance and will continue to do so predicated upon the availability of funds and the proposed professionalization of its activities in the coming year. Staff has been increased to tackle the Request for Review backlog. There has been a reduction in incoming cases filed with the commission and with a slight increase in agency budget, we anticipate improvements in the timely adjudication of cases. The agency has requested more resources for fiscal year 2019 (see Executive Order 2018-08 and S.B. 0020) to maximize our operational capacity to deal with problems associated with, and reduction of the Request for Review backlog. Such maximization would provide timely rendering of justice to the affected citizens of Illinois.
