Program Goals and Objectives |
- To analyze the current landscape of the Illinois early childhood care and education (ECCE) system and to conduct in-depth strategic planning to maximize the availability of high-quality ECCE services.
- To assess the availability and quality of existing ECCE programs in Illinois along with their infrastructure and support systems.
- To develop a strategic plan for Illinois that will support the goal to coordinate Illinois' mixed delivery system so that all children and families have access to the services they need to thrive.
- To increase parents' ability to make informed decisions about their children's care and education.
- To share best practices with the field by coordinating professional development across the state.
- To improve the quality of infant/toddler program environments, program leader learning, and career advancement.
- To improve the life trajectory of families through voluntary, evidence-based home visiting programs for expectant families and families with young children up to entry into kindergarten who are at risk for poor health, educational, economic, and social outcomes. Statutory purposes are:
- strengthen and improve home visiting programs and activities carried out under Title V of the Social Security Act;
- improve the coordination of services for at-risk communities; and
- identify and provide comprehensive services to improve outcomes for families in at-risk communities.
