The Auditor General has one program - the Illinois State Audit Program. The purpose of this program is to conduct mandated financial audits and/or compliance attestation examinations of all state agencies as defined in the Illinois State Auditing Act; to conduct performance audits of agencies and programs as directed by the General Assembly; to conduct audits of federal programs administered by state agencies as required by the Federal Single Audit Act of 1984; and to conduct special studies and investigations as required by the General Assembly.
