Explanatory Information
In fiscal year 2026, the Office of Statewide Pretrial Services became their own agency and therefore has no 2026 target data for the Supreme Court.
Footnotes
A pretrial investigation is completed prior to a defendant’s initial appearance, or as directed by the court, for the purpose of providing information to the judge when considering pretrial release or detention. A supervised defendant is a person on pretrial release who the judge orders to be supervised by a pretrial officer. OSPS operates two pretrial electronic monitoring programs - an active GPS monitoring program and a transdermal alcohol monitoring program. Additionally, drug testing is a component of pretrial release for most defendants.
