Mission Statement SIU Edwardsville (SIUE) is a student-centered educational community dedicated to communicating, expanding, and integrating knowledge. In a spirit of collaboration enriched by diverse ideas, our comprehensive and unique array of undergraduate and graduate programs develops professionals, scholars, and leaders who shape a changing world.
Program Goals and Objectives
  1. SIUE will increase the enrollment of prepared and diverse students to 14,500 by 2027, ensuring strategic growth that reflects SIUE’s commitment to inclusive excellence, and our values and goals.
    1. SIUE will be a national leader among peers. The university will fulfill its promise to support student success at all levels by reaching 90% retention, a four-year graduation rate of 45%, and a six-year graduation rate of 75%, while ensuring that equity gaps are closed. Additionally, SIUE will achieve the Carnegie Classification of Opportunity Colleges and Universities.
      1. SIUE will strive to recruit, retain, and support the advancement of the most diverse faculty among Illinois public higher education institutions.
        1. SIUE will be a national model for equity-minded community engagement. We will expand the number of faculty, staff, and students participating in meaningful and collaborative partnerships with communities. Building on our strengths, SIUE will develop and nurture strategic relationships to effect positive change in the university, region, nation, and world.
          1. SIUE will diversify its revenue streams by increasing net tuition revenue by 9% and creating new opportunities to cover 10% of operational costs with philanthropic giving and other new revenue sources. These changes will promote long-term financial well-being as SIUE budgets are realigned to ensure excellence.

The total completions for teacher preparation programs at SIUE, inclusive of secondary education completions, is 157. Completions for nursing programs matches bachelor's degree completions reported to IBHE under CIP code 51.38. However, nursing programs at SIUE include completions at the masters, post-masters, and doctoral levels, as well as a graduate program in CIP code 51.32. The total completions for nursing programs at SIUE inclusive of all levels is 459. Completions for dentistry programs matches doctoral degree completions reported to IBHE under CIP code 51.04. However, dentistry programs at SIUE include completions at the post-doctoral program level. The total completions for dentistry programs at SIUE inclusive of all levels is 63. Pass rates are reported on a calendar year basis. Fiscal year 2023 includes 2023 pass rates and fiscal year 2024 includes 2024 pass rates. Pass rates are not reported for fiscal year 2025 because calendar year 2025 was not finished at the time of this submission. This program is not offered at SIUE. All other programs include institutional support, operations and maintenance of physical plant, Medicare, and independent operations, including student housing and food service. Fiscal year 2025 Illinois median income is calculated as $81,702 (based on the 2023 ACS Five-Year Survey). SIUE uses the latest available ACS Five-Year Survey when calculating this percentage. The data from the 2024 ACS Five-Year Survey is not available to the public until January 29, 2026 at the earliest, which is too late to be reported for this submission.
