2025 Adult-Use Cannabis Program
Mission Statement The ISP provides enforcement, investigation, and processing of all cannabis-related criminal offenses. The ISP is also involved in the inspection of facilities operating under the Cannabis Control Act (Adult and Medical Use). The ISP strives to ensure the safety of the motoring public/community, curb illicit market (non-tax related cannabis sales and possession) activities and provide effective inspection and oversight of security-related matters to the legitimate cannabis industry.
Program Goals and Objectives
  1. Ensure the ISP complies with omnibus cannabis expungement orders.
    1. Reduce the average number of days to process court-ordered expungement or sealing of records.
      1. Increase the number of CCO cannabis site inspections.
        1. Conduct cultivation center inspections.
        2. Conduct dispensary inspections.
        3. Complete liaison reports.
        4. Conduct cannabis waste disposal observations.
      2. Conduct enforcement efforts to reduce the illegal sales and possession of cannabis.
        1. Increase traffic safety by enforcing DUI Drug enforcement efforts.
          1. Train officers in Advanced Roadside Impairment Detection Enforcement (ARIDE) techniques.
          2. Train officers as Drug Recognition Experts (DRE).
          3. Establish methods for detecting the metabolites for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in bodily fluids, including, without limitation, blood and saliva.
