With the passing of the SAFE-T Act, officers in the State of Illinois have become better trained and prepared for the future of local law enforcement. The Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board plays a crucial role in ensuring the SAFE-T Act has been implemented to the best of their ability. The only true challenge facing ILETSB are the lack of state employees that need to be added to the agency in order to continue the advancement of the SAFE-T Act and with a fiscal year 2026 projected headcount of 86 employees, the agency is well on the way to achieving all missions.
