Mission Statement Illinois State Police Merit Board receives applications and examines applicants through written and physical testing, background investigation, and oral interview to determine if they are qualified for appointment to the Illinois State Police.
Program Goals and Objectives
  1. To recruit, test and certify qualified applicants for appointment to the Illinois State Police and entry into the Illinois State Police Cadet Academy Program.
    1. State Police Merit Board staff solicits and compiles application information for eligible individuals. Staff also facilitates the testing of applicants, both physical and written, and certifies qualified individuals for appointment to the Illinois State Police and entry into the Illinois State Police Cadet Academy.
