2025 Clean Air
Mission Statement Protect the health, welfare, property, and quality of life of the citizens of Illinois through the elimination or control of harmful pollutants in the air.
Program Goals and Objectives
  1. Ensure that all federal and state air quality standards are being achieved.
    1. Issue permits, conduct inspections and compliance activities, and monitor air quality
    2. Assess the status of air quality through data collection, modeling, and analysis.
  2. Implement air pollution control strategies to reduce industrial emissions.
    1. Reduce emissions from mobile sources (i.e., transportation) that impact air quality in the state.
      1. Implement an improved vehicle emission test program in non- attainment areas.
